Committed to our promise of providing a superior customer experience, Premium Service Inc. is seeking an experienced Load Planner/Dispatcher to join us. The Load Planner/Dispatcher is responsible for negotiating contracts, freight, and spot market rates with shippers and carriers to achieve targeted profit and budget. Monitor freight loads and investigate and resolve load issues in a timely manner. Plan and implement programs as necessary to improve routing and fleet utilization to be consistent with customer expectations and network needs. Participate in logistics business development for both internal and external sales.

Among other things, the Load Planner/Dispatcher will also do:
Assign carriers and book loads
Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary.
Respond to customer needs by answering e-mails, and phone calls, tracking shipments, and moving shipments.
Perform inbound load planning activities through consolidation of purchase orders, routing, and carrier selection to meet service expectations for freight type and delivery date.
Identify and select the best mode of transportation to reduce costs
Develop relationships with current and new carriers and continually negotiate competitive rates with an entire carrier pool.
Process load tenders and follow through to ensure load acceptance by selected carriers.
Track loads to ensure on-time delivery and proactively communicate potential delivery delays to stores/buyers/management.
Communicate and escalate issues as they arise to management.
Act as a resource to less relevant experienced associates.
May lead projects when necessary
